Fish of the Week 2: SU's Kids Fishing Derby

Connor Marx, 7, had help from a net man, his younger brother, Parker, 5, in landing a 5.2-pound rainbow Saturday off Government Pier at Waukegan Harbor. Both of the Winnetka boys shared in celebrating big fish honors at Salmon Unlimited’s Kids Fishing Derby.

The derby drew 127 kids. “Pretty awesome,’’ SU’s Jim Nelligan noted.

Yes, indeed.

FOTW, the celebration of big fish and good stories around Chicago fishing, appears Wednesdays on the Sun-Times outdoors page.
