Despite losing two games by a combined 33 points, Jared Allen said the Bears aren’t about to panic. The outside linebacker said the team’s scouting reports have been dead-on, and the players are a few small tweaks away from making the plays that have eluded them in two losses.
“Trust me, around here, the sky is not falling,” he said Monday. “There’s a lot of football left. Let’s see where we’re at, at the end of the year.”
Allen said the team’s inability to record a sack this season has been the difference of a half-step or a half-second.
“It’s not big things,” he said. “And when they come, they come in bunches.”
On Fuller
Coach John Fox again refused to categorize removing cornerback Kyle Fuller late Sunday as a benching, saying that Terrance Mitchell played for Alan Ball, too.
Asked if Fuller’s confidence needed to be repaired, Fox said he, like any other player, is focused on making adjustments.
“I think right now at 0-2 I think guys’ mindset, Kyle’s or anybody else’s in that room, is to get better,” he said.
