A man was shot in the Gage Park neighborhood on the Southwest Side Wednesday night.

About 9:10 p.m., the 26-year-old man was talking in an alley in the 5100 block of South Sawyer when a white SUV pulled in and someone inside the vehicle opened fire, according to Chicago Police.

The man was shot in the groin and left leg and a female acquaintance took him to St. Anthony Hospital, police said. He was later transferred in serious-but-stable condition to Stroger Hospital.
