A 30-year-old man was shot and critically wounded Thursday afternoon in the South Side Auburn Gresham neighborhood.

About 12:20 p.m., he was standing outside in the 8300 block of South Kerfoot when a gunman walked up and shot him in the head, according to Chicago Police.

The man was taken to a hospital in critical condition, police said.
