Man robs Near West Side bank

A man robbed a bank branch Tuesday evening on the Near West Side.

The robbery happened at the TCF Bank branch at 1220 S. Ashland at 6:35 p.m., according to the FBI.

The suspect was described as a black man between 25 and 40, 5-foot-7 to 5-foot-8 and 180-200 pounds, wearing a black hooded coat, black knit cap and light blue jeans, according to the FBI.

He did not display a weapon.
