Man shot in Brighton Park

A 19-year-old man was shot Wednesday night in the Brighton Park neighborhood on the Southwest Side.

He was walking with friends about 11:30 p.m. in the 4000 block of South Albany Avenue when a red car pulled up to them, according to Chicago Police. He and his friends began to run away, but someone inside the car got out and shot him in the shoulder and buttocks.

He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was listed in fair condition, police said.

A police source said the man is a documented gang member.
