A 15-year-old boy was seriously wounded in an Austin neighborhood shooting Monday night on the West Side.

Officers responding to a call of a person shot at 8:13 p.m. found the boy on a sidewalk in the 800 block of North Central Avenue with a gunshot wound to the back, according to Chicago Police.

He was taken in serious condition to Stroger Hospital.

Four hours earlier, a 17-year-old was critically wounded in another shooting about a mile away in the same neighborhood.
