A 22-year-old Naperville man fell to his death Friday after jumping over a concrete barrier on the Veterans Memorial Tollway near southwest suburban Bolingbrook.

About noon, Christian W. Muir walked away from his 2008 silver Dodge vehicle and jumped over the concrete barrier on the right side of southbound I-355 near mile marker 10.5, according to Illinois State Police and the Will County coroner’s office.

Muir was pronounced dead at the scene, the coroner’s office said. An autopsy was scheduled for Saturday, but the final cause and manner of death will be determined at a later date, pending police, autopsy and toxicological reports.

Illinois State Police said the investigation is ongoing.
