Police are searching for the person who has committed three armed robberies in the Gold Coast and River North neighborhoods.

The male is wanted in connection with the robberies that happened about 5 p.m. Sept. 23 in the 100 block of West Chestnut; about 11 a.m. Sept. 29 in the 0-100 block of West Hubbard; and about 7:30 a.m. Sept. 30 in the 300 block of North State, according to the community alert from Area Central detectives.

The suspect should be considered armed and dangerous and anyone who spots him is advised to call 911 and not to approach him, police said.

The men, 18 and 20, were in the 1800 block of West Monroe Street about 9:20 p.m. when two people got out of a light-colored sedan and fired shots. They were hospitalized in fair condition.
