A man was wounded in a drive-by shooting early Thursday in the Austin neighborhood on the West Side.

The 24-year-old was walking down the street at 2:51 a.m. in the 5100 block of West Madison when a silver or gray car drove by and someone inside shot him, according to Chicago Police.

He was shot in the arm and taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where his condition, was stabilized, police said.

A police source said the man is a documented gang member.
