A man was shot to death early Wednesday in the Marquette Park neighborhood on the Southwest Side, police said.

Michael Anderson, 59, was shot in the head at 4:09 a.m. in the 6600 block of South Washtenaw, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office. He lived in the same block where he was killed.

He was taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

Area Central detectives were conducting a homicide investigation.
