While it remains to be seen which of them will still be on the White Sox roster, a list of team members who are scheduled to appear at the team’s fan convention on Jan. 27-29 at the Hilton Chicago was announced by the team Tuesday.
Current team members on tap include Jose Abreu, Tim Anderson, Melky Cabrera, Todd Frazier, Miguel Gonzalez, Jose Quintana, Carlos Rodon and Tyler Saladino.
Prospects Zack Burdi, Zack Collins, Tyler Danish, Carson Fulmer, Lucas Giolito, Michael Kopech, Yoan Moncada and Charlie Tilson will also be on hand. Moncada and Kopech were two of the four acquired from the Boston Red Sox for Chris Sale in the blockbuster trade that set the Sox’ rebuilding project in motion at the Winter Meetings last week. Giolito came to the Sox along with two other pitching prospects for Adam Eaton. Moncada is generally regarded as the top prospect in baseball. Giolito is considered the top pitching prospect on a number of lists.
The guest list would seem to be somewhat tentative as the Sox are expected to make more deals this offseason, which could include one or more of players scheduled to attend SoxFest.
New Sox Manager Rick Renteria, coaches Don Cooper, Curt Hasler and Todd Steverson, and Sox greats Harold Baines, Carlton Fisk, Bo Jackson, Eric Soderholm, Frank Thomas and Willie Harris are also scheduled to attend as well as special assistant to general manager Jim Thome, director of player evelopment Chris Getz and director of scouting Nick Hostetler.
Additional current and former team members scheduled to attend will be announced at a later date.
SoxFest will be held at Hilton Chicago.
