A man wearing a surgical mask robbed a store early Tuesday in northwest suburban Park Ridge.

A man entered the store near Oakton Street and Northwest Highway about 4:30 a.m., approached the counter and asked for money, according to Park Ridge police. He implied he was armed but no weapon was displayed.

The clerk complied with his demands, and the suspect ran away with an unknown amount of money, police said.

He was described as a white man about 25 and 5-foot-8, police said. He was wearing a black jacket, beige pants, gray stocking hat and white mask.

Anyone with information should call Park Ridge police at (847) 318-5252.
