The 2016 NFL salary cap is $155.27 million per team, the NFLPA confirmed Friday.

That’s about $12 million more than last season’s total.

The figure leaves the Bears with $60.47 million in cap space next season, according to Spotrac.com. That’s third-most in the NFL, behind the Jaguars and Raiders. GM Ryan Pace and coach John Fox said this week that, despite the cap space, the Bears don’t expect to spend wildly.

“We’ve got way better cap room this year than last, not that that means we’re going to go crazy,” Fox said at the NFL Scouting Combine. “But we’re in better financial position that way. And again, this is about evaluating and decision-making, and we need to do very well this offseason.”
