Chicago Police are warning residents of armed robberies in the Calumet Heights and South Chicago neighborhoods on the South Side.

Two armed robberies were reported in these neighborhoods on March 2, according to a community alert from Chicago Police. The robberies happened at 3:45 p.m. in the 8700 block of South Kingston Avenue and at 4:50 p.m. in the 8800 block of South South Chicago Avenue.

In both robberies, three to six juveniles walked up to people on the street, pulled out a gun or implied they had a gun, and robbed them, police said. Two of the robbers are described as black juveniles, 14-17 years of age and standing 5-foot-6 to 5-foot-9.

The men, 18 and 20, were in the 1800 block of West Monroe Street about 9:20 p.m. when two people got out of a light-colored sedan and fired shots. They were hospitalized in fair condition.
