A person was rescued from Lake Michigan after his kayak capsized Sunday morning on the South Side.

The Chicago Police Marine Unit responded to a capsized kayak at 31st Street Beach at 8:55 a.m. and helped bring a male to shore, according to police.

The male, whose age wasn’t immediately available, was conscious and being treated at the scene, police said.

The men, 18 and 20, were in the 1800 block of West Monroe Street about 9:20 p.m. when two people got out of a light-colored sedan and fired shots. They were hospitalized in fair condition.
