A man was shot Monday evening in the West Garfiled Park neighborhood on the West Side.

The 20-year-old man was walking down the street in the 4200 block of West Madison Street at 5:17 p.m. when the suspect ran up to him and fired shots. The suspect then got into a red vehicle and drove off, police said.

The man suffered a gunshot wound to the left leg and showed up at Loretto Hospital in good condition, police said.
