Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying the driver in a fatal hit-and-run crash more than a week ago in northwest Indiana.

Rashod Anderson, 20, was fatally struck by a vehicle near West 25th Avenue and Ralston Street in Gary about 11:50 p.m. March 17, according to Gary police. The vehicle sped off southbound on Colfax Street after the crash.

Anderson, of the 3700 block of West 20th Place in Gary, suffered blunt force trauma injuries and was pronounced dead at 2:30 a.m. March 18, according to a statement from the Lake County coroner’s office. The manner of death was pending early Sunday.

Witnesses described the vehicle as a black or blue Dodge Intrepid, driven by a white male with blond hair. The vehicle sustained front-end damage and the windshield was shattered.
