Two men were shot early Monday in the Belmont Cragin neighborhood on the Northwest Side.
The men, ages 23 and 42, were walking with another male in the 5700 block of West Grand Avenue about 4:10 a.m. when they were approached by two people who fired multiple shots in their direction, police said. The shooters then sped away from the scene in a vehicle.
The 42-year-old suffered four gunshot wounds to the left arm and one to the left side of his chest, police said. He was driven by the third male, who was not injured in the shooting, to the Grand Central District police station, where paramedics were called. He was then taken in good condition to Mount Sinai Hospital.
The 23-year-old ran away after the shooting, but responding officers found him and discovered he had suffered a graze wound to the upper portion of his right thigh, police said. He was taken in good condition to Community First Medical Center.
