A Jane Addams Memorial Tollway off-ramp reopened to traffic Monday in northwest suburban Elgin.

The ramp carrying traffic from westbound I-90 to southbound Illinois Route 31 was reopened after crews finished construction on the ramps north of the Jane Addams, according to a statement from the Illinois Tollway.

The closure was part of the Illinois Route 31 Interchange Project, which is rebuilding I-90 bridges over Route 31 and all eight ramps that make up the interchange, according to the tollway. Work on the southern half of the interchange will include ramp closures scheduled to begin in mid-April.

Crews will continue work this week to move the temporary traffic signal on Route 31 to a new location south of the I-90, tollway officials said. The signal will be used to direct traffic when the southern ramps close.
