Nearly 100 flights have been canceled at O’Hare Thursday and several other flights are delayed as storms cross the Chicago area.

Nearly 100 flights have been canceled at O’Hare as of 1:45 p.m. and airlines are reporting delays averaging 20 minutes, according to the city Department of Aviation.

At Midway, airlines are reporting a few delays averaging between 20 and 40 minutes.

Showers and thunderstorms are moving across northern Illinois, according to the National Weather Service. The storms could produce small hail, gusty winds and downpours as the temperatures climb into the high 60s.

Thursday night is expected to be cloudy with a high of 39, according to the weather service. Scattered showers are possible Friday, with a high near 47.
