A man was fatally shot after an argument in the Grand Boulevard neighborhood on the South Side Friday night.

Wavey Brown, 44, was arguing with another male in an alley in the 5000 block of South Calumet Avenue at 9:30 p.m. when the male pulled out a gun and fired shots, police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office said.

Brown, who lived in the 300 block of Washington Street in Waukegan, suffered a gunshot wound to the back and was taken to Stroger Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 10:18 p.m., authorities said.

The men, 18 and 20, were in the 1800 block of West Monroe Street about 9:20 p.m. when two people got out of a light-colored sedan and fired shots. They were hospitalized in fair condition.
