A 19-year-old man died early Wednesday, two days after he was shot while driving in the Chicago Lawn neighborhood on the Southwest Side.

Davion Spivey was driving a vehicle in the 6000 block of South California Avenue at 7:35 p.m. Monday when someone standing on the sidewalk fired shots through the back window before running away, police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office said.

Spivey was shot in the head and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 2:47 a.m. Wednesday, authorities said. He lived in the 7300 block of South Artesian.
