Two men who work at a Lake Villa home for adolescents with emotional and behavioral issues have been charged in connection to a teenage resident’s death.

The Daily Herald is reporting that Shaquan Allen, 16, of Chicago, died Wednesday night after two employees at Allendale Association responded to a behavioral issue and were trying to bring the teen back to his room.

One employee grabbed his leg, and the other applied a chokehold, authorities said. Shaquan died soon after at Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville.

James Davis, 37, of Round Lake, is charged with involuntary manslaughter and obstruction of justice. Another employee, Justin Serak, 27, of Grafton, Wisconsin, faces charges of obstruction of justice.

Davis was being held on $1 million bail and Serak on $50,000 bail.
