A man was fatally shot early Saturday in the North Lawndale neighborhood on the Southwest Side.

Gino Carrasco, 22, was walking out of a store in the 3200 block of West 16th Street at 1:14 a.m. when someone got out of a vehicle and fired shots, police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office said.

Carrasco suffered a gunshot wound to the chest and was taken to Saint Anthony Hospital and then transferred to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 4:30 a.m., authorities said. He lived in the 5100 block of South Sawyer.
