Police warn of garage burglaries in Beverly, Morgan Park

Three garage burglaries in November and December in the Beverly and Morgan Park neighborhoods on the Far South Side have prompted a community alert from police.

According to the alert, the three robberies happened in the:

  • 10500 block of South Artesian Avenue
  • 10900 block of South Campbell Avenue
  • 10700 block of South Maplewood Avenue

In each of the burglaries, robbers used tools to pry their way into garages and then steal property. The robberies happened late at night, between midnight and 6:00 a.m., police said.

At least one of the robbers is thought to be a black man, between 25 and 35 years old, police said. He was last seen with a stolen snow blower at 4:30 a.m. on Dec. 10, wearing dark clothing and riding a mountain bike, police said.

Anyone with information is asked to call Area South Property Crimes Bureau at (312) 747-8273.
