When Jimmy Butler went down with a knee injury earlier this month, he turned to Derrick Rose for advice.

Butler, who missed Sunday’s All-Star game in Toronto because of the injury, told the Chicago Tribune Rose “has been a big help” while nursing his strained left knee.

“Just to listen to my body. Don’t come back too fast because you don’t want to make it worse,” Butler told the Tribune when asked about Rose’s advice. “Obviously, he knows because he’s had knee surgeries. He was just telling me, ‘Look, make sure you’re right because when you’re not using something, something else shuts down and you don’t want to get hurt doing that either.’ He’s been a big help, truthfully.”

Butler is expected to miss three to four weeks after hearing what he described as a “pop” in his knee Feb. 5.

Chicago is winless in the four games since Butler’s injury and has slid all the way to seventh in the Eastern Conference standings.
