Stanley Cup spends week in Finland

SHARE Stanley Cup spends week in Finland

The Stanley Cup boarded a plane and headed across the pond to Finland to visit Blackhawks players Teuvo Teravainen and Kimmo Timonen.

First, Teravainen spent a couple days with the Stanley Cup, showing it to the fans in his neighborhood and taking pictures with his family.

Teravainen brought the Stanley Cup aboard a cruise and headed to Sauna Island with his friends and family.

After Teravainen spent two days parading the Stanley Cup around his hometown of Helsinki, the keeper of the cup traveled 241 miles north to Kuopio for Timonen to spend time with the cup.

No indication on what Timonen, who retired after the Stanley Cup Final, will do with the cup during this week.
