Former Chicago Bears defensive tackle Dan Hampton will join WFLD FOX 32 Chicago as a contributor for their Chicago Bears pregame show and their Sunday night sports show, “Final Word.” He will be serving as a commentator and analyst.

Hampton, 57, was a member of the Super Bowl champion 1985 Bears and was inducted into the NFL Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2002.

The former Bears great eagerly shared his excitement about his media role for the upcoming season.

“If I would have sit back 20 years ago and said, ‘Wow what’s the coolest way to not only watch the Bears but be able to be in the media and also comment on the Bears?’ I don’t think I could have drawn up a better schedule,” Hampton said.

In addition to his new gig, Hampton also shared his thoughts about the 2015 Bears — and how he thinks they will transition under new head coach John Fox.

Hampton pointed to Fox’s success in his first seasons with the Carolina Panthers and Denver Broncos — where he won six more and four more games than the previous season, respectively.

“This team has a good vibe to it,” Hampton said. “This team can not only be respectable but win 10 games.”

One player that Hampton is looking forward to seeing this season? A guy that has been around now for awhile.

“There’s a lot of Jay Cutler hate,” Hampton said. “I’m personally a believer.

“Adam Gase can say to Jay Cutler, ‘Look I coached Peyton Manning. You’re not Peyton Manning, yet. If you listen to me you can be a great player.’”
