In the final minutes of the first half Sunday, Bears wide receiver Eddie Royal was walked off the field with what appeared to be a head injury.

Royal immediately took his helmet off while sitting on the field. After talking with team trainers, Royal started to walk off the field. However, before he could make it to the sideline, Royal had to kneel down again.

The wide receiver was taken to the locker room early. When the team returned to the field, Royal was with them.

However, Fox’s Erin Andrews reported that Royal did go through concussion protocol. Royal stayed on the sideline as the Bears offense took the field, but had his helmet on. He would return to the game shortly after.

Royal dealt with a hip injury throughout the preseason. He was listed as questionable on the official injury report before the game.
