Every week of the 2015 Chicago Bears season, Chicago Sun-Times Sports will celebrate the 30th anniversary of the 1985 Bears by speaking with players from the team including Jimbo Covert, Dan Hampton, Dennis McKinnon and Otis Wilson.

The Bears take on the San Diego Chargers in Week 9 on Monday Night Football. Three former Bears players — Covert, Hampton and McKinnon — shared their memories of MNF.

Pritzker signs bill requiring candidates to run in primaries — Republicans call it 'stealing an election'
Democrats and Gov. J.B. Pritzker framed the bill as an ethics measure that would take “backroom deals” out of the equation when choosing candidates — with Illinois Senate President Don Harmon, D-Oak Park, calling it a “favorite tactic of a former legislative leader” and House Speaker Mike Madigan. But Republicans described it as changing the rules in a game that’s already in play.

CPS reaches 4-year contract with school support staff who went on strike in 2019
SEIU Local 73 leadership and CPS agreed to a four-year contract that is highlighted by a base salary of $40,000, as well as at least 4% raises for workers across all four years. The agreement nows goes to its 11,000 union members for a vote.

Mother's bank card crucial to tracking down suspect charged with killing Chicago Police Officer Luis Huesca
The suspect, Xavier Tate, 22, had used the card in a store not long before Huesca was gunned down on April 21 in the 3100 block of West 56th Street, Police Supt. Larry Snelling said at a news conference as Tate made his first court appearance on murder charges.
