A man was fatally shot in the Grand Boulevard neighborhood Friday afternoon.

The shooting happened at 2:48 p.m. in the 300 block of East 47th Street, police News Affairs Officer Veejay Zala said.

David Drayton, 23, was shot in the upper body and leg and taken to Stroger Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 3:44 p.m., according to police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office. Drayton lived in the 6400 block of South Harvard, authorities said.

An autopsy was scheduled for Saturday.
