Every player to ever be deemed the best in the NBA inevitably gets compared to Michael Jordan. Lately, most of the talk has been comparing Kobe Bryant’s career to Jordan or asking if LeBron James will ever reach those heights.
However, another of the game’s greats has his eyes set on surpassing Jordan in the minds of fans. Golden State’s Steph Curry said he wants to go down as the greatest player in the history of the NBA.
Curry was asked during an interview with ESPN what his goals were for his career and if he wanted to go down as the GOAT (greatest of all time) and top Jordan.
Yeah. Why else would I be playing? You want to be the best you can be. And if the best you can be is better than him, then why not? That’s good motivation.
The Warriors and Jordan’s 1995-96 Bulls have been compared throughout the season as Golden State continues their undefeated run. However there haven’t been many talks putting Curry and Jordan in the same sentence.
