One of the biggest storylines over Brett Favre’s 20-year career was his dominance over the Bears. Every time the soon-to-be Hall of Fame quarterback played the Bears, broadcasts were all too eager to show his record against the Bears. Even more popular was the list of Bears quarterbacks since Favre took over.
There is no questioning Favre’s winning ways against the Bears, going 23-13 all-time against them, but his record is a bit misleading. Much like the win stat in baseball, Favre’s play alone wasn’t always what earned the win.
Since 1992, when Brett Favre took over, the Packers have used 3 starting quarterbacks. The Bears have used 26.

Favre’s career quarterback rating was actually almost exactly the same as his rating against the Bears, with a league rating of 86 and 85.6 against the Bears. In fact, his rating against the Bears wasn’t far above the league average during the ’90s and 2000s.
He did, however, have more than a few moments. Favre had 11 games with a quarterback rating over 100, including a stretch from 1994-97 where he had six straight.
As the Packers prepare to enter Favre into their ring of honor before they play the Bears, take a look back at his best and worst performances against the Bears.
