The regular season may still be four months away, but for some fans baseball season is already starting. For the Cubs, things got rolling over the weekend with the annual Cubs Convention.

Fans got their first taste of the coming season during the convention’s opening ceremony. With raucous fans in attendance, some of the top players currently on the team’s roster were introduced.

As long-time voice of the Cubs Pat Hughes read off each player, fans grew louder and louder. Unsurprisingly, the crowd got loudest for the biggest names on the team. Kyle Schwarber, Anthony Rizzo and the team’s new additions brought the biggest cheers.

What was a little surprising was the order the final names were read. The Cubs’ MLB award winners were held for the end, with Jake Arrieta being the last name, following both Kris Bryant and Joe Maddon.
