In 2011, Cubs first baseman Anthony Rizzo made his MLB debut with the San Diego Padres.
Two years later, Theo Epstein and the Cubs made their first big trade. They traded former first-round pick Andrew Cashner to the Padres for the first baseman.

And the trade paid off, with Rizzo having an MVP-caliber season, and Cashner is 1-7 thus far in 2015.
On Tuesday, the Cubs will open a three-game series against Rizzo’s former team.

Rizzo took a picture with his teammates on Sunday in the Gaslamp Quarter, the historic heartland of San Diego.
The 25-year-old is 3-for-11 with one RBI against the Padres since being traded.
