Metra ticket vending machines were on the blink Thursday because of a DSL problem, Metra officials said.

Metra was working with AT&T while going into the evening rush to correct the digital subscriber line problem, Metra spokesman Michael Gillis said.

In the meantime, he said, the commuter rail agency has increased its staff at ticket windows.

Ticket-vending machines at the Ogilvie Transportation Center, Union Station and the La Salle Street Station either were not working at all or were working intermittently Thursday, Gillis said.
