A 49-year-old man was shot in the Austin neighborhood late Friday.

The man was on the sidewalk about 11:40 p.m. in the 4600 block of West Erie when he heard gunshots and felt pain, police said.

He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital after suffering a graze wound to his chest, police said. His condition had stabilized.
