A 16-year-old boy was shot Saturday night in the West Englewood neighborhood on the South Side.

He was standing on the sidewalk in the 5500 block of South Wood at 9:39 p.m. when two males walked out of the gangway across the street and opened fire, according to Chicago Police.

The teenager was shot in the right hand and taken to Holy Cross Hospital, where his condition was stabilized, police said.
