A west suburban man was sentenced to 15 years in prison Tuesday for severely beating his girlfriend last year while under the influence of cocaine.

Gene A. Reynolds, 38, pleaded guilty to aggravated domestic battery on Jan. 29, according to the Kane County state’s attorney’s office.

On June 3, 2015, Reynolds was under the influence of cocaine when he went to his girlfriend’s home and beat her for hours, according to prosecutors.

The woman suffered broken facial bones and brain hemorrhages that required an extensive hospital stay.

Reynolds, of Aurora, was on probation for domestic battery at the time of the beating, prosecutors said. He also had seven prior domestic violence convictions, and had served four prior terms in prison.
