A man was struck and killed by a Metra train during the Tuesday evening rush in southwest suburban Tinley Park.

Matthew Grudewicz, 23, was hit by Rock Island District outbound Train 413 at 5:25 p.m. near the Tinley Park/80th Avenue station, according to the transit agency and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Grudewicz, of the 17300 block of South Ridgeland, was pronounced dead at the scene, officials said.

Metra police were being assisted by Tinley Park police with the investigation.
