Two people were hurt in a Heart of Chicago neighborhood shooting early Sunday on the Near West Side.

The pair were in a vehicle driving south in the 2200 block of South Leavitt about 3:10 a.m. when the vehicle stopped at a red light and another vehicle pulled up alongside. Someone inside the second vehicle fired shots, according to Chicago Police. The victims’ vehicle crashed after the shooting.

A 20-year-old man was shot in the right leg, while the other person in the vehicle, a male whose age was not known, suffered a gunshot wound to the right arm, police said. They were taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where both were listed in good condition.

Police said a person of interest was being questioned early Sunday, but was later released without being charged. Area Central detectives are continuing to investigate.
