Earlier this summer a Chicago judge granted permission for Banks’ caretaker to sell items from his estate. So, the celebrity auction house Heritage Auctions will be selling Banks memorabilia online Saturday and Sunday, including Ernie’s Baseball Hall of Fame ring, his 1958 “Babe Ruth Sultan of Swat Award” crown, his 2-foot-tall personal version of the life-size bronze statue of Banks that stands outside Wrigley Field, and his “MR CUB” Illinois license plate.
