A man was shot Sunday evening in the Back of the Yards neighborhood on the South Side.

About 6:50 p.m., the 26-year-old was on a sidewalk in the 5100 block of South Wolcott when he heard gunshots and realized he had been hit in the abdomen, according to Chicago Police.

He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where his condition was stabilized.

Police said the shooting likely was gang-related.

The men, 18 and 20, were in the 1800 block of West Monroe Street about 9:20 p.m. when two people got out of a light-colored sedan and fired shots. They were hospitalized in fair condition.
