A 47-year-old north suburban man was fatally struck by a Metra train in the Ravenswood neighborhood Friday morning on the North Side.

About 9:40 a.m., the Evanston resident was struck by inbound UP-North Train 332, according to Metra and the Cook County medical examiner’s office. He was dead at the scene.

An autopsy Saturday ruled his death a suicide.

The men, 18 and 20, were in the 1800 block of West Monroe Street about 9:20 p.m. when two people got out of a light-colored sedan and fired shots. They were hospitalized in fair condition.
