Two women were shot in the Back of the Yards neighborhood early Saturday on the South Side, leaving one in critical condition.

They were outside about 2 a.m. in the 4700 block of South Laflin when a gray minivan pulled up and someone inside it opened fire, according to Chicago Police.

One woman, 26, was shot in the back and taken to Stroger Hospital in critical condition, police said. The other, 31, declined treatment for a graze wound to the left shoulder.

The shooting was thought to be gang-related, police said.
