A woman died in a fire Sunday afternoon in her North Lawndale neighborhood home on the West Side.

Crews responded at 2:35 p.m. to the blaze on the second floor of a home in the 1500 block of South Central Park, according to Fire Media Affairs.

During the primary search, Dorsey L.Calhoun, 82, was found and taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, according to Fire Media.

Calhoun was pronounced dead less than half an hour later at the hospital, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office. An autopsy Monday found she died of smoke and soot inhalation, and her death was ruled an accident.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
