A man was shot and critically wounded Sunday afternoon in the South Side Auburn Gresham neighborhood.

The 40-year-old was walking outside about 2:45 p.m. in the 8700 block of South Honore, when a vehicle approached and someone inside fired shots, striking him in the chest, according to Chicago Police.

The man was taken in critical condition to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, police said.
