A man was shot during an attempted robbery Saturday afternoon in the South Side Englewood neighborhood.

The 56-year-old was shot in the right leg during an attempted robbery about 12:45 p.m. in the 7300 block of South Halsted, according to Chicago Police.

He was taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn in serious condition, police said.

The men, 18 and 20, were in the 1800 block of West Monroe Street about 9:20 p.m. when two people got out of a light-colored sedan and fired shots. They were hospitalized in fair condition.
