One man was killed and another was seriously wounded in a Marquette Park neighborhood shooting Saturday evening on the Southwest Side.

Tayvion Roberson, 18, was standing outside with a 56-year-old man at 9:41 p.m. on the sidewalk in the 7100 block of South Artesian when another male walked up and opened fire, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Roberson was shot in the back and chest and taken to Holy Cross Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 10:05 p.m., authorities said. He lived in southwest suburban Oak Lawn.

The older man suffered a gunshot wound to the side of his body and was listed in serious condition at Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, police said.
